Beauty

Hey all, Life has been flat chat so I haven't had much of a chance to blog yet.

But I will blog about this. . .
Self image.
Way too many people (girls especially) view themselves in a very negative light and decide the fate of their self esteem on how their hair looks which just isn't good enough. I am guilty of this at times too, I won't lie, but i am trying every day to stay positive and keep a healthy body image.

All the girls and women I idolise in real life and magazines are not a size 8, far from it, I have a tendency to see super skinny women as fragile and vulnerable. Which is what some people like. I personally prefer to see a curvy girl who is ferocious in her sexuality.
Let's face it, theres no point having sexy clothes if you can't fill them out. Yes skinny is the fantasy, but who wants to have no boobs, or bum, or hips? no one and all the skinny girls will tell you that.

Now don't get me wrong, I know some girls are naturally stick-like and it's not their fault so don't hate on the skinny girls, and skinny girls don't hate on yourselves or the curvy girls, be thankful that your the current trend in our society.

But at the end of the day I think we all need to love our bodies and feel good in our skin without the make up and nice clothes, because if we can do that, we can then be the cause of the drool puddle gathering around a male's feet rather then just be a wall flower that no one notices.

Embrace your power ladies, it's what feminism is for!

Efficiency is my Policy

Hey everyone! hope all is well.

Today was a bit full on so I haven't had much time to research up on anything to blog about. But I thought I would blog anyway to let you all know I'm thinking of you (aww).

Today I proved to myself (and therefore everyone is eligable) that I can do a hell of a lot in an afternoon if I set my mind to it.
So the moral of this story is don't procrastinate, do what you got to do then reward yourself.

Shanti!

Here's an Arts student kind of Question

What is actually real?

It's almost a cliche it's been asked so many times and I for one kind of ignored it and didn't give it much thought until a discussion came up in Anthropology the other day.

My opinion? I think it depends on what you class as real, is it something solid and unchanging? that you can taste, smell, touch, see and/or hear?

If that is what you define it to be, then nothing is real, anything can change at any moment. I don't mean that a dog will suddenly become a chicken, what I mean is that our perspective or belief of something can change.

For example the "Dog Biscuit" prank that was pulled by a lecturer.
He handed out biscuits to the people sitting in the front row of his class, saying they were a delicious biscuit. All the students accepted the biscuit and ate it happily, claiming that it tasted really good.
At the end of the class, the teacher revealed that the biscuits were indeed dog biscuits. Most of the students who had eaten them reacted badly and some even became instantly ill.

In this example, the biscuits themselves didn't change, our belief of what they were did. The biscuit's taste didn't change either, but they went from tasty to horrible.

Science is also another great example, ironically, because it is contantly changing and proving itself wrong.

Wrap your mind around that one and let me know what you think.\

How To Clean Your Crystals and Stones

Hey everyone, hope your all well!

Today's topic is "How to clean your stones".
Now there are some things that I am not sure about when it comes to stones and their energy so if i miss anything or get it "wrong" then feel free to correct me.

Ok, well to clean your stone place it in a bowl or glass or either pure water or salt water (unless your stone will dissolve, then place it in salt).

Then place your stone or crystal in the sun or moonlight for a few hours. This enables to stone or crystal to re-energise and be able to be used again.

Whenever handling your stone or crystal. always focus on your intended use of it or focus on positive energy and giving that positive energy to the stone or crystal.

Always cleanse and re-energise your stones and crystals after every use and do not have stones or crystals touching or in the same bowl when cleansing. I am not sure if this is only during cleansing or that they should not touch, period.

There are oils and special mixtures that you can purchase and use to cleanse your crystals and stones but I personally prefer the cheaper option.

Also incense, candles and the smoke from some herbs when burnt cleanse crystals and stones but I am not completely sure what you should use and what you should not.

If you have anything to add, feel free!

Amethysts

Hey everyone, This will be the first of many blogs about different special stones and crystals. Hope you enjoy them!

Amethyst is a very powerful and protective crystal which has a high spiritual vibration and protects against psychic attack by transmuting the energy into love. It also blocks negative environment energies.

Amethysts also assist with meditation as it enhances higher states of consciousness. Amethysts open to a higher reality.

It helps you feel less scattered in every day thinking and enables you to be calm or active where needed.
Wear an Amethyst facing inwards to absorb positive energy from your environment or outwards to dispel any negative energy you may be holding.

Amethysts are one of the most powerful stones for spirituality and meditation uses.

It also has many healing qualities and is excellent for healing blood dis-eases or problems.

For more info please feel free to leave a comment.

A long weekend

Hey everyone,
Well the weekend is coming to a close, a few of my house mates are going out for one last crack at partying before monday begins.
I personally am happy to avoid the hangover and chill out at home.
Yeah I know I sound boring but alcohol is bad for your zen, everyone knows that haha.

Events this weekend? brought my crystal book down from home so I can work out what my new stones and crystals do and represent so there should be a blog about that at a later date. Apart from that I had a lovely weekend at home in the country with my chickens, boyfriend and family.

Spiritual advice? deep breaths make you feel better, haha. But it is true, I mean think about it, you always feel calmer in a situation after a good inhale and exhale.

That's all from me everyone, hope you have a wonderful monday morning!

Moral Relativism

That's right kiddies! I've begun "real" uni and not just O'week party time.
So far I have been a little surprised by the sudden work load but am getting back into the swing of things from good ole year 12.

I'm currently studying Philosophy, Criminology, Anthropology and History.
I am really enjoying all of them, some obviously a lot more then others though.

Apart from the class side of things, campus life rocks. I have already made plenty of new friends and feeling very much at home. :)

Now you're probably all waiting for the Spiritual side of things and I'm going to get to it now. For my birthday my mum (bless her) got me special stones, crystals and oracle cards!!!! I was sooo excited!

The oracle cards are used to help you determine what you need to address in your life and what issues you may be going through without realising.

Although I haven't cleansed the crystals mum gave me, I am still feeling the good vibe from them all.

What I do need to start doing again is meditating (not that I really did it in the first place)and create some more zen in my life once more.

Well that's all from me for now. Shall post as often as study permits!

Shanti!
